Overview

The Accountant Dashboard is your central hub for monitoring the financial health of the law firm. It displays real-time KPIs, charts, and quick-action buttons to help you stay on top of daily accounting responsibilities.

Accountant Dashboard

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

At the top of the dashboard you will find four summary cards:

  • Total Revenue (This Month) — Sum of all payments received in the current calendar month.
  • Outstanding Invoices — Total value of invoices with status sent or overdue that have not been fully paid.
  • Monthly Expenses — Total of all case and office expenses recorded in the current month.
  • Net Cash Flow — Revenue minus expenses for the current month, giving you a snapshot of profitability.

Charts

Two charts are displayed beneath the KPI cards:

  • Revenue Chart (Line) — Shows daily or weekly revenue over the past 30 days. Hover over any data point to see the exact amount and date.
  • Expense Breakdown (Pie) — Visualises expenses by category (court fees, salaries, office rent, travel, etc.) so you can identify the largest cost centres at a glance.

Quick Actions

Three buttons in the top-right area let you jump straight to common tasks without navigating through the sidebar:

  1. New Invoice — Opens the invoice creation form pre-filled with today's date.
  2. Record Payment — Opens the payment recording form to log an incoming payment against an existing invoice.
  3. Add Expense — Opens the expense form so you can log a case or office expense immediately.

Recent Transactions Feed

The bottom section displays the 10 most recent financial transactions (invoices issued, payments received, expenses recorded) in reverse chronological order. Each row shows the date, transaction type, reference number, client or vendor name, and amount. Click any row to open the full record.

Tip: Refresh the dashboard at the start of each working day to review overnight changes and any newly overdue invoices flagged by the system.
Important: KPI values are calculated in real time from the database. If a figure looks incorrect, verify that all payments for the month have been recorded and that no duplicate entries exist.
