Overview
The Invoices page allows you to create and manage all financial invoices issued to clients. Each invoice moves through a defined status workflow and can be linked to a specific case for accurate matter-based billing.

Invoices Table
The main table lists all invoices with the following columns:
- Invoice # — Auto-generated sequential number (e.g., INV-2025-0042).
- Client — The billed client's name.
- Amount — Total invoice value after tax and discount.
- Status — One of: Draft, Sent, Paid, Partially Paid, Overdue, Cancelled.
- Issue Date — Date the invoice was created.
- Due Date — Payment deadline.
- Actions — View, Edit, Send, Record Payment, Download PDF, Cancel.
Creating an Invoice
- Click New Invoice in the top-right corner.
- Select the Client from the searchable dropdown — type a few letters to filter the list.
- Optionally link a Case to associate the invoice with a specific matter.
- Add line items in the Items Table: enter a description, quantity, and unit price. The row total is calculated automatically.
- Set the Tax Rate (percentage) and any Discount (fixed or percentage). The system calculates subtotal, tax amount, discount, and grand total.
- Add optional Notes (e.g., payment instructions) and set the Due Date.
- Click Save as Draft to store the invoice without sending, or Save and Send to mark it as sent immediately.
Status Workflow
Invoices follow this progression: Draft → Sent → Paid. A partially paid invoice moves to Partially Paid until the remaining balance is settled. An invoice past its due date is automatically flagged as Overdue.
Recording a Payment Against an Invoice
Click Record Payment on any sent invoice, enter the amount received and payment date, and the system will update the invoice status automatically.
