Accessing the Calendar

Click Calendar in the left sidebar. The calendar opens in monthly view by default, displaying all events your role has access to.

Switching Views

Use the view buttons in the top-right to switch between Monthly, Weekly, and Daily views. The weekly and daily views show time slots making it easier to spot scheduling conflicts.

Event Colour Coding

Each event type is displayed in a distinct colour for quick visual scanning:

  • Hearing — red (highest urgency)
  • Deadline — orange
  • Meeting — blue
  • Appointment — teal
  • Task Due — purple
  • Reminder — grey
  • Other — dark grey

Creating a New Event

Click any day cell in monthly view, or any time slot in weekly/daily view, to open the event creation form. Alternatively, click the Add Event button at the top of the page. Fill in:

  1. Title — short event name shown on the calendar cell.
  2. Type — select from the event type dropdown.
  3. Date — event date (required).
  4. Start Time / End Time — time range for the event.
  5. Location — court name, office address, or meeting room.
  6. Related Case — searchable dropdown to link the event to an existing case (optional but recommended for hearings and deadlines).
  7. Attendees — multi-select from your team members to send them a calendar notification.
  8. Notes — additional context or preparation instructions.
  9. Reminder Before — choose to receive a reminder 15 min, 30 min, 1 hour, 1 day, or 2 days before the event.

Click Save Event. All attendees will see the event on their calendar immediately.

Editing or Deleting an Event

Click any event on the calendar to open its detail popup. The popup shows a pencil icon (edit) and a trash icon (delete). Only the event creator or a firm_admin can delete events.

Tip: Link every hearing event to its related case. This ensures the hearing appears in the case timeline and counts toward the "Upcoming Hearings (7 days)" KPI on the dashboard.
