User Management
Add, edit, deactivate, and manage team members in AdlDesk including role and branch assignment.
Last updated: July 2026
Accessing User Management
From the left sidebar, click Settings, then select the Users tab at the top of the settings page. The users table lists every team member registered in your firm.

Reading the Users Table
The table contains five columns:
- Name — displayed in the interface language (Arabic or English).
- Email — the login email address.
- Role — shown as a colour-coded badge (e.g. firm_admin in blue, lawyer in green, paralegal in yellow).
- Status — Active (green) or Inactive (grey). Inactive users cannot log in.
- Branch — the office branch the user belongs to.
Adding a New User
Click the Add User button (top-right corner of the users table). The slide-in form contains the following fields:
- Name (Arabic) — full name in Arabic script, used in Arabic UI and official documents.
- Name (English) — full name in Latin script.
- Email — must be unique across your firm; this becomes the login username.
- Password — minimum 8 characters; the user should change it on first login.
- Role — select one: super_admin, firm_admin, lawyer, paralegal, or client.
- Branch — choose from the branches you have already created in Settings → Branches.
Click Save to create the account. The new user receives no automatic email — share the credentials manually or via your internal communication channel.
Editing and Managing Users
Each row in the table has three action icons on the right:
- Pencil icon — opens the edit form to update the user's name, role, or branch.
- Shield icon — triggers a password reset dialog where you set a new temporary password for the user.
- Toggle switch — activates or deactivates the user. Inactive accounts are blocked from logging in but all their data is preserved.
Tip: When a team member leaves the firm, deactivate their account rather than deleting it. This preserves the audit trail for all actions they performed on cases and documents.
Important: Only users with the firm_admin or super_admin role can access the Users tab. Regular lawyers and paralegals cannot see or modify user accounts.
