Mobile & Responsive Usage

How AdlDesk adapts to tablets and mobile phones — responsive layout, touch-friendly controls, and tips for working on the go.

Responsive Design Overview

AdlDesk is a fully responsive web application. You do not need to install a separate mobile app — open app.adldesk.com in any modern mobile browser (Safari on iOS, Chrome on Android) and the interface automatically adapts to your screen size.

AdlDesk responsive dashboard view

Sidebar on Mobile

On screens narrower than 768 px the left sidebar collapses and is replaced by a hamburger menu icon (three horizontal lines) in the top-left corner of the header. Tap it to slide the navigation panel open. Tap anywhere outside the panel or tap the X button to close it. All navigation items — Cases, Clients, Financial, Calendar, Documents, Chat, Reports, Settings — remain fully accessible.

Touch-Friendly Controls

All buttons, form fields, and action icons are sized to meet a minimum 44 px touch target. You can:

  • Tap rows in the cases or clients tables to open detail views.
  • Long-press a calendar event to see quick-action options without opening the full detail modal.
  • Swipe left on a table row in list view to reveal action buttons (edit, delete) without tapping the overflow menu.

Calendar on Mobile

The calendar automatically switches to Day view on small screens to avoid overcrowding. Use the left and right chevron arrows to navigate between days. Tap any event chip to see its full details. To switch to Week or Month view on mobile, tap the view-selector button (top-right of the calendar header) — the layout will scroll horizontally if needed.

Working with Documents on Mobile

Document upload works via the device camera or file picker. Tap Upload Document and your device will offer Camera, Photo Library, or Files as sources. PDF previews open in the device browser's built-in viewer. For tables with many columns, rotate your device to landscape orientation for a wider viewport.

Tips for Mobile Use

  • Rotate for tables: Landscape mode gives significantly more horizontal space on cases, clients, and financial tables.
  • Pinch to zoom documents: PDF previews support pinch-to-zoom gestures for reading fine print.
  • Bookmark the URL: Add app.adldesk.com to your home screen via "Add to Home Screen" in your browser for a near-native app experience.
  • All features available: Every feature accessible on desktop is also available on mobile — the layout adapts but nothing is hidden or disabled.
Tip: For tasks that involve a lot of typing — such as writing case notes or composing client emails — a tablet with a keyboard cover or a desktop remain the most comfortable environment.
