Bulk Operations
Perform actions on multiple cases, clients, or documents at once using checkboxes and the Actions toolbar.

What Are Bulk Operations?
Bulk operations let you select multiple records and apply a single action to all of them at once. This saves significant time when managing large datasets — for example reassigning 20 cases to a new lawyer, or archiving all closed clients from a specific year.

Bulk Actions on the Cases Page
On the Cases page, each row has a checkbox on its left edge.
- Tick one or more checkboxes to select individual cases, or tick the header checkbox to select all cases matching the current filter.
- A blue Actions toolbar appears at the top of the table showing how many items are selected.
- Click Actions to reveal the available bulk operations:
- Assign to Lawyer — opens a lawyer picker; all selected cases will be reassigned to the chosen lawyer.
- Change Status — opens a status picker; moves all selected cases to the chosen status (e.g., Archived).
- Archive — directly archives all selected cases with a single confirmation prompt.
Bulk Actions on the Clients Page
The Clients page supports similar checkbox selection. Available bulk actions are:
- Export CSV — downloads a comma-separated file of the selected clients with all profile fields included.
- Archive — marks selected clients as archived, removing them from the default active list.
Bulk Actions on Documents
In the Documents page list view, tick the checkboxes on multiple documents and use the Actions toolbar to:
- Download as ZIP — packages all selected documents into a single ZIP archive for download.
- Move to Category — reassigns all selected documents to a chosen category (e.g., moves all uploaded scans from "Other" to "Evidence").
Best Practice: Filter Before Selecting
Always apply relevant filters before using bulk select. For example, to archive all closed cases from 2023, first filter by Status = Closed and Date Range = 2023, then select all and archive. This prevents accidentally including records you did not intend to modify.
